December 24 is National Consumer Rights Day in India!
Here are three guru-mantra rules for consumers.
1. Never pay more than M.R.P. MRP stands for Maximum retail price, so always bargain on MRP.
2. Always take bills for your purchase. That means government is getting the rightful tax from the shopkeeper. Also, it is a must for redressal or claims.
3. Remember that as a consumer, you always have right to redressal.
Here is Nita’s wonderful post about how to avoid being cheated while shopping. You will soon read an interview of another consumer rights champion on Visceral Observations.
Merry Christmas
Meanwhile, may you have a Merry Christmas today! π
Here is animated wish from an e-learning company called Enspire. Keep your speakers on and enjoy!
May Santa fulfil your wishes today! π
Merry Christmas!
And wow, the snow is falling on all the blogs on WordPress.com blogs, neat thing they’ve done. I hate having a white blog today, the snow isn’t showing. π¦
That is only reason why I have changed my blog theme for few days! π Snow does not show well on white blog.
Aur aaj ke kya plan hain?
Yeah, I see it doesn’t show at all on my blog because there’s nothing except white there. But I’m not gonna change the theme, too much of a bother for me.
Aaj ke koi plans nahi. Got Physics at 2:30 and then Maths at 4. Will return at about 5-5:30 types and will try to watch some DVD’s which I’ve asked my friends to bring to the tuition today lol. I just hope they don’t forget or else aaj bhi so so ke din nikaalna padega.
What are your plans for today..aaj to chutti hogi na?
Nahi, dost meri chutti nahi hai. π¦
Though will try to catch up with Taare Zameen Pe this evening, if I am lucky to find less traffic today.
Enjoy your DVDs. Let me know what you watch. Mere paas DVDs to hai, pur raat ko dekhne ka energy nahi hota. Time mile to dekhun. π¦
Ah, buri nazar lag gayi DVD’s waala plan ko. Ek ne write karne se mana kar diya aur doosra phone nahi utha raha. I guess we’re back to plan A then, chup chaap so jao. And chalo, mujhe laga sirf meri chutti nahi hai.
And I seriously need to do something about the snow. Maybe I’ll have to change themes after all.
Koi achchi DVD rent kar lo na! Some classic romance or holiday movie.
Haan, change the theme, feels good. π
Hey thanks for the pingback! π
Those points you have made about M.R.P and bills are important ones!

Hello,
In India most of the consumers do not take any step even if they know their consumer rights, as usually we think that legal process will take long time and need to hire a lawyer for the case, but now anyone who wants any information regarding filing case in the consumer court can visit consumercourt.in and submit their complaint for proper guidance and knowledge.
Regards,
Bhanu
Thanks Bhanu for the wise comment. π We certainly can achieve something by complaining at consumercourt.in.
Hi….
Everday I purchase milk of 500ml from a grocery shop, and the shopkeeper every time ask me to pay 1to 2 rupees extra from the MRP charges.
So, this should not be happen…..
please take right action against shopkeeper..requesting to government of India for the same.
please let know where I have to post details of grocery shop.
Thanks
Namita
Please file a complaint in your nearest consumer court. You don’t need a lawyer and it doesn’t take long and hard time as main courts.
