Avant Garde Bloggies Awards

As I announced in my previous post, I will be organising the blogging awards. And you guess it right, I am calling it Avant Garde Bloggie awards. Here is how this award will be organised:

Phase 1: Nominations

The filing of nominations start today. The invitations for nominations close on 14 October at 10 pm IST.

Phase 2: Polling

You, my readers, will poll for your favorite post in each category. Polls will be open for a month from October 15 to November 15.

Phase 3: Judgement by a panel of judges

The panel of judges will comprise of bloggers. I will let you know once panel of judges will be decided.

Phase 4: Judgement day

All the blog awards winners will be announced on 11 December, 2008, here at Visceral Observations. Final decision of the awards will be based on collective points gained from public polling and panel of judges.

Please feel free to ask any questions. I want to keep this decision process transparent and smooth. You question may also point out a fact/situation I may have overlooked.

Volunteers, please!

I can not certainly organise this awards night single-handedly. I need some volunteers for promotion, communication and execution. Those who are interested and would have some time on hands, please write in the comments section. I will be very grateful to have your helping hand.

Watch out! I will soon be inviting nominations for avant garde award categories.

P.S: I have changed the theme and header of my blog. The header has been designed by my colleague Sunil. He would be anxious to have your feedback.

If some one can make a graphic badge for these awards etc, that everyone can put on their blog to invite nomination and promote polling etc., wouldn’t that be good ?

And using Work resources for personal(blogging) purposes is a great idea too. πŸ˜‰ I should also find some one who can convert my old content into hi-resolution images… πŸ™‚

Great header! And a great effort you are undertaking. I wish I could help Poonam, but this is a wrong time for me. I am absolutely swamped with work on the professional front.

Do we have to nominate here or have to send you a separate mail??? And I suppose that a blogger should not nominate himself/herself?
The header is very good. πŸ™‚

How do we send you the nominations???

Guess what, me and a couple of other fellow bloggers were discussing on the probability of a meeting. Wouldnt it be wonderful if such a meet happens to declare and give away the awards?

The header looks tooooo good. I wanted to comment on that before even reading your note. πŸ™‚

(Btw, off-topic, Sudas blog name, in your blog roll, is typed incorrectly)

    Hi Poonam,

This is a really big initiative that you have started working on. I must commend your enthusiasm and zest to go ahead with something as big as this. I am sure; you will make this happen at a really big scale. I wish you all the best & give out a shout for any help that you may need. I can’t commit entirely due to professional commitments, but will do the best I can.

no offense to anyone, but this sounds like a raja-rani ki story. I mean jaise bachpan main ghar ghar khelte the waise bade hokar blog awards khelte hain. But yes I am liking it, it is like reading a fairy tale thingy.

Jokes apart, this is really great!

I was recently reading B. F. Skinner’s (a famous psychologist) operant conditioning which suggests that if you want to strengthen a certain response or behavior pattern, reward it. So it is good, you have thought of rewarding your blogger friends!

All the best! God bless you!
