Every one in blogosphere would tell you that each blog should have a contact page. I never put one before because I thought any one could contact me writing a comment in any of my posts.

However, when I was contacting bloggers for interviews at BaB, I felt very gawky writing my interview requests in a topical post. I realized how frustrating it can be not to find a specific contact page where you can write your messages.

It is even better to add your email address on your contact page. I am not putting my email address here for fear of spam. However, I promise, if you write here, I will get back to you ASAP.

A note on book reviews: I will be happy to review a book for you. However, I have two conditions. One, I do not want to spend timing writing a review, if I didn’t like the book. I firmly believe that is a waste of time, and also not fair for aย  nascent, upcoming book to be slammed by a lone reader who didn’t like it.ย  My second condition is, I need time. I am not a full time book reviewer/blogger, I have a painful schedule at work like every other corporate slave. At any given point of time, my reading list is painfully large, it takes time for me to clear the waiting list, get to a book and write a review. If you have patience and fortitude ๐Ÿ™‚ to bear with these conditions, I promise I will give the book a fair chance.

    Hello Poonam

We are a group of young Indians who have started http://www.inkfruit.com

Itโ€™s a social site where people upload their designs for t-shirts. There is an ongoing weekly contest with prize money of Rs 20000. The winning designs are then transfer printed (not screen printed) on t-shirts made of high quality fabrics in all sizes. These are then sold on the site.

I would really appreciate it if you could visit the site and write about it on your blog. We are a startup with limited funding, but in return I can offer you a free t-shirt of your choice from the shop section of the site. You can let me know which t-shirt you like along with the size and shipping details. I shall have it sent across to you asap.

Looking forward to some positive response and help spreading the word about our site.

    Thanks for your time.

    Kind regards,
    Sarika

Hey, I came across your blog when researching for my trip to Goa that I am planning. You seem to have gone to Goa around the same time. I plan on going around 16-24th December. Was it very crowded when you went at this time? This is one thing that I am concerned about. Its too bad that Goa is so expensive at this time. You said in ur first post about Goa that you would list the hotels you stayed at and how much it cost. I could not find that info.. so can u pls tell me if u can remember?? Thanks so much

by the way .. u have a great blog!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am glad that you like my blog. I hope that the details I sent you, helped you. Goa, at the time you are going will BE expensive. Bargain for eberything in Goa, everything. You would be surprised with the results.

    Hey,

I came across your blog on Labnol’s India Blogs list. We are trying to build an Indian community (http://YoSamosa.com) that is vocal around a range of topics. We strongly believe that the future of publishing is crowdsourced where content is published on a distributed network of blogs.

For now the community is exclusive and by invite only. I’m sending out the third set of invites to bloggers who might want to utilize this platform for promoting their posts. As the community grows it could expose your blog to a large user base interested in your writings.

    Follow this link: http://www.yosamosa.com/?xgi=b5UNX4L

    Cheers
    BN

    Ok, will consider this! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Dear Poonam

i have been paying my emi to icici bank very much on time Recently one of the emi did not get presented in my bank althought there was sufficient balance. Inspite of going to there customer care branch & depositing my bank statement the very next day the collections department kept on harasing me for collection of emi. It finally turned out that ICICI BANK HAD GOOFED UP BY sending a wrong account no in the ecs to my banker & hence due to this technical reason the emi got returned. ICICI Bank is still insting on me paying emi amount+ overdue interest+ bouncing charges

Arun, I think you shouldn’t pay and fight with ICICI bank. I guess if nothing works you should call consumer helpline. Please read this post to learn more: https://alchemistpoonam.wordpress.com/2008/12/26/december-24-national-consumer-rights-day-2/

I am sorry to know you are being harrassed for no reason.

Hey, I recall you are a traveller!

I documented my river rafting trip. http://camprapidfire.wordpress.com ๐Ÿ˜€

Visit when you have time and don’t say sorry vorry if you can’t due to lack of time. It’s okay.

Whoa! A blog for JNU caves and a separate blog again for rafting..Why don’t you make one collective blog of your travels? I have been to Shivpuri twice. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • 57 Vikas Gupta March 28, 2009 at 3:54 am

Cant’ make a collective blog. I am thinking of it as socio-cultural value (documentation/archiving). Besides it is meant for team mates too. I’ve to keep them separate.

I am doing offline blogging now with Windows Live writer which simplifies life and blogging to a great extent. Those photo documentation took me 6 to 10 hours to make (including the time for photo processing) and next time it will only take 3 to 5 hours thanks to some new tricks! ๐Ÿ˜€

I am starting my virtual travel blog too! Will try to travel one country/place in a week/month and write how i felt while i was there! LOL!

And most recently, I have joined an all-female brigade for achieving our health goals. You can join too (Roop’s initiative). http://fitnessfervor.wordpress.com. I am enjoying socialising with the females; have to soon write my inaugural post (intro plus few goals).

  72. 80 Aridhi October 25, 2009 at 1:25 am

Hey ๐Ÿ™‚ sorry I didn’t see your comment reply here before. I do have a twitter set up, but I just have it so that I can follow certain people who put official, encouragement-based and need-based updates on twitter. I don’t update my own status much. I think it’s a really good way to give 1-2 line updates that can let people know how it’s going without having to do individual emails or phone calls. Even better than mass emails because your friends get to choose what updates they want to read about and how often. It’s very “western” in that sense (for want of a better description, sorry). Anyway since I don’t update it much I haven’t put it on my contact page but if I start using it more I will definitely remember your advice ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for being so helpful!

    Hi Poonam,

We read all of your blogs and love every minute of them ๐Ÿ™‚

We just launched a website called: StylishDesi.com The concept is simple: BUY and SELL new and pre-owned ethnic wear online. How many times do you buy an expensive sari and wear it once to function? Why not sell that pre-owned sari to someone else who would love it. You can also post new items (those gifts you recieve that are just not ‘you’!)

We also appeal to those many smaller boutiques that do not have eCommerce functionality on their site. They can use our site to appeal to the masses and post their new items online.

We would LOVE for you to profile our new website on one of your blogs. Is this something you would be interested in?

But finally after some delays the mar-Apr issue is available at Landmark Pune – just called and confirmed with them. Or of course will be glad to courier you a copy if you email me your details.

    Thanks,

    Arun Kumar

I just went through your wonderful blog, while I was searching some book reviews. Looks like, I’ve an interesting idea for you.

I was searching Harsh Snehanshu’s “Oops! I fell in love!” review on your blog, which unfortunately, I couldn’t find. Well, Harsh has been in news lately since he has completed his second novel and has very recently launched a very interesting social media campaign for his second book, titled ‘The Lazy Writer’s Competition’, where he’s inviting people to suggest him the title for his next book on his fan page. It’s for the first time anybody is crowd-sourcing a book’s title in India and I think, it would be great if popular websites like yours become the first one to take his interview or comment in relation to this campaign.

It’s a novel campaign about a novel, remember, would fetch you good hits as well. We’re doing a cover story on him in HT in June. Since it’s a social media campaign, we were looking forward to outsource it through popular blogs related to books, like yours, if reported thoroughly.

    Hi there,

A longtime ago, I wrote a post about Al Gore comparing himself to Mahatma Gandhi. I called him a lying hypocrite.

You responded asking me WHO I thought to be labeled as such.

What I meant was that I truly believe Mahatma Gandhi to be one of the most important and courageous men in the history of mankind and that some j@ck@ss of an American politician dared compare himself to him.

I now (and have always) consider Al Gore to be a lying hypocrite.

I know this is late in coming, and I apologize. I actually just stumbled upon your post comment as I prepare my blog for a move to a private host.

    Again, my apologies.

  146. 178 Waylon February 23, 2013 at 1:36 pm

    Hi Chirag,

I’m a big fan of your work, and am reaching out to see if we could feature you on Gloop, a new social network that helps Indian consumers discover new stuff. We’re building a site around the notion that people in India are making sense of a shifting national identity through what they own and what they buy. It is low-brow art meeting ecommerce, and we’re reaching out to a bunch of emerging personalities who are shaping the way the educated, professional, curious Indian thinks–people in media, art, business, social work.

The idea is to have them send in a collection of 5-10 photos of things that speak to them–a piece of furniture, a coffee mug, a gourmet treat, a photo of your genius personal trainer, anything that can be bought is fair game–a peek into the little black book of consumption that you’ve amassed as part of your lifestyle choices in modern India. And of course, itโ€™s a great way for you to engage a broad audience and create awareness for your work, the way you would with Twitter, for example.

To give you a bit of context here, Gloop is started by Indians whoreturned to India after studying abroad (I graduated Middlebury College, Vermont 2009 and my associate from Princeton 2004 and Harvard Business 2010), to help other Indian returnees re-acclimatize to life in India. We think you would resonate well with our audience of 25-45 year olds who are well-traveled, highly educated, and intellectually curious. We started as an email list / facebook page (www.facebook.com/gotgloop), and given our popularity, we’re now launching a site gloop.in in early 2013. We’re featuring a bunch of tastemakers who are pushing the Indian retail scene forward–folks like Rohit Bal, Bandana Tiwari,Nirav Modi, Nisha Jamvwal, Roohi Jaikishen, etc., and we’d love to add you to the list.

Happy to give you a call to discuss this in more detail, but the crux of it is, all we really need is a photo + bio of you, and then 5-10 photos of things you love, that are available in India (even if they are imported…). Could be anything from a watch to a gourmet treat to a beloved pen…a peek into your little black book of consumption, if you will.

I look forward to hearing from you, and we’re excited at the prospect of introducing your tastes to our audience.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Will you like to review my upcoming novella ‘Only For You’ in month of September/ October when it’s published? If possible I want the review to be posted in the date of publication (it’s not yet fixed). I will send PDF version of the book to you one month before the publication. Let me know if you’re interested.

    Here’s the summary:

It is said that peopleโ€™s lives are tales of two great journeys – the pursuit of happiness and the search for true love.

Edward seems to have achieved one of these ultimate goals by falling in love with Daisy.

But in his quest for true love, will he be willing to let go of his one special friend, and perhaps, sacrifice his chance for happiness?

If thereโ€™s a choice between love and friendship, would Edward sacrifice one for the other? Would he be able to live with his choice and never ask himself what if he chose the other?
