Blogging Awards

It is high time I thanked graciously all the bloggers who have awarded me. Nita awarded me Brilliant blog award for my “brilliantly thoughtful posts” as she says. I am honored, specifically because, to me,  she is epitome of professional and most regular blogger I have ever known. She does it without any commercial interests. Yet, day after day she churns out informative and well-researched posts about India.

Vaibhav bestowed me with another Brilliant Weblog award and so did Roop.

Roop awarded me brilliant blog award in her painstakingly long post. You can find me at number 30 in her long list. 🙂 Thank you, Roop!

Once I praised Roop’s idea of dedicating pictures in her blog (she clicks them herself) to others (blogger friends usually), she dedicated two of her next pictures to me. And you (Roop) thought I didn’t notice it? After Reema, Roop is another generous blogger I have come across. Generous to recognise you, your writings.

Nova gave me interesting blogger award while Sulz gave me educational blogger award.

Xylene mentioned me in his award post.

Amit mentioned me as an inspiration for blogging in his post for his blogging journey. Now I feel honored again if I could inspire someone to blog.

Reema had awarded me the best blogger award. And I gave her generous blogger award and a high-five. But she deserves more.

Visceral Observations started winning awards with Ashish awarding my interview with consumer court case winner Lt. Col. Rajesh Yadav as best post. This year, my Goa trip series was aso awared best travel post on Dabido’s bog. (Thanks to Ashish’s nomination and voting, which he did not fail to remind me 😛 ) My other blog, Being A Blogger had also earned best debut blog. Somewhere, it faltered with my usual inaction. No, I am not proud of it.

Bows to all of you! Thank you, it is very humbling thing to be recognised for this blog.

I think its time I dole out my own awards. I am planning different kind of awards, not those like most interesting blog, most informative blog, and so on. So many of them have been around.

I want to award that special post you wrote. Each of us has a masterpiece  post written in our blog that is waiting to be recognised. Many bloggers are like me who have no specific niche, we write about everything that comes to our mind: personal stories, anecdotes, social issues, news, movies, cartoons and so on. I don’t want a person who wrote a most courageous best piece miss out the recognition of that post under a most interest blog award.

Here are the tentative award categories:

1. Most courageous post
2. Best short story post (we can include short stories created by commentators. Ashish and Amit, you must thank me for making this provision 😛 )
3. Best off-beat post
4. Best book review post
5. Best movie review post
6. Most interesting tag post
7. Best How-to post
8. Most interesting personal rant post (sorry about carving out entertainment out of a rant)
9. Best regional post (posts about cities, regions and cultures)
10. Best current affairs post
11. Best eye-opener post
12. Most humorous post
13. Best satirical post
14. Best musical post
15. Best visual post
16. Best human interest story post
17. Best travel post
18. Best consumer rights post
19. Most informative post award (link blogging)
20. Best product review post
21. Best ‘culinery’ post
22. Best public interest post
23. Most insane post

Blog awards

1. Most beautiful header award
2. Most interesting sidebar award
3. Best about me page award
4. Best blog design award
5. Most disciplined blogger (one award I can never win)
6. Most networking blogger
7. Most responsive blogger

Other awards

1. Most interesting tag around
2. Most popular book (on blogs) award
3. Most popular movie (on blogs) award
4. Best blogging project award

I will write the rules for nomination and how winners will be decided in the next post. You, my reader, will play an important role in deciding the winner.

Please write your feedback for the categories for awards in the comments section. I will be waiting for it with crossed fingers. Ahem! 🙂

And really sweet of you Poonam to create all these awards! However I feel that if an award has to have meaning, it should be given wisely. As you have created many different categories everyone will have a chance, but the awards need to be given wisely.
