Today is world earth day or whatever but I had no idea! I posted a post on environment friendliness and what a nice coincidence.
    Yes, SAVE THE EARTH!

Nice videos, especially the first one. That’s what I call saying profound things in such a simple way.

It’s good to see people getting a little aware and considerate about nature but there’s still a long way to go.

nice concern for mother nature we really dont know
where we are heading. let us hope things will improve with so many organizations taking up the cause and are campaigning awareness about global warming.
to day morning in local FM there was a request that u decide to switch off for one hour today and every day to conserve energy for future otherwise who knows may the future people will live in darkness!!!!!!!!!! great thought put in
In india too lot of activists are there but may be want of funds they lack publicity and advertisement

I had no idea that today is World Earth Day. πŸ™‚ Anyways, Happy WED. πŸ™‚ And I too liked the first video a lot. It was a very simple way to convey the message. But, I think God won’t be interfering if something like this happens. Nature itself is capable of creating a havoc.

@Nita: Which post are you referring to? The one on clothesline or the cultural difference? Looks like my reader has missed your environment friendly post. 😦

@Ish and Amit: Gotcha! Is it that you guys have only watched first video? Is that why you like it best? πŸ˜‰ Just kidding. Did something like Earth Day was ever mentioned in your school pehle kabhi.

@praneshachar: yeah, that is what they preach in UK and US to have thermostat off for one hour or to keep temperature down. There maximum consumption is on thermostat due to cooler climates. Best conservation, of course, can be to conserve sparingly. πŸ™‚

The one on clotheslines. Am in a hurry right now. Off to goa! πŸ™‚

Couldn’t see the videos but I did see the documentary on HBO. The Emperor is for “Going Green”! πŸ™‚

Nay, I saw all the videos. The plastic one was good too. And it was very apt. These things do come in with shitloads of plastic.

And that polar bear waala also. I believe that’s happening to them as I’m typing this.

The second waala is also okay but it wasn’t able to really make the kind of impact the first and third one did.

And nope, Earth Day was never mentioned in my school ever. We actually had a subject called Environmental Chemistry in 12th which was supposed to teach things about the environment and how the chemicals harm it. But it was an additional subject..uska koi exam nahi hota isliye poora saal uski koi class hi nahi lagi. Nobody bothered. Bottomline toh yahi pata chalta hai ki even though CBSE is trying to instill some sense into people, it’s not gonna happen until they have an exam for it. And even if they do have an exam, people will rattofy and give the exam. Nobody is bothered. English mein bhi yahi hota hai. Chapters and poems deal with poverty and social issues par uske baare mein koi bother hi nahi karta.

πŸ™‚ I saw all the videos. You know how internet works in India. Phir bhi, I buffered and buffered and saw all of them πŸ™‚ , but seriously the first one was the best.
And I never knew there was anything like an Earth Day till I saw it on this post. School main I only knew of valentine day. πŸ˜†
And I love your theme. So I have stolen it. πŸ™‚

@Ashish: Don’t tell me you could not buffer the videos in cybercafe. And I know you are green way. πŸ™‚

@ish: Now no one can question that you watched all four. πŸ™‚ Yeah, the plastic one is also an eye-opener to the thing that happens regularly. It is sad state of education at schools. Important things are not bothered with, only useless pressure and graded are given a push. I am sad to hear the plight of Environmental Chemist. So much for introducing the subject at school. 😦

@Amit: You know how internet works in India. Phir bhi, I buffered and buffered and saw all of them. Such a sweet defense. I was kidding, yaar. πŸ™‚ Feel free to steal the theme. IT is wordprss’s. and I am not surprised Valentines Day is popular at school. How many times you were lucky on Valentines? (just curious now that you mentioned it) πŸ˜›

  12. 12 Amit April 25, 2008 at 8:34 am

Thank you. πŸ™‚ And I was quite unlucky at the Valentines. I was that Padhaku sort who can’t see beyond their books, so didn’t get much time for all this. But I was part of a really roudy and naughty gang of boys, so I was very well aware of the trends and happenings, as far as girls were concerned. πŸ˜‰
And, oh yes, a girl did proposed me when I was in class II. πŸ˜€
